J.P.'s Whispering Winds
Richard and I are THRILLED to announce our newest addition to Windy Acres!

Born April 8th, 2010 approximately 9:30 PM an adorable mahagony bay filly!  She was premature but is doing wonderfully.  She has a dorsal stripe and her tail has frosting in it. She is losing her foal coat and we are unsure what color she is going to be!!

Check out her pictures and her sire and dam below.

Just a note about Whisper, Windy's dam.......
Whisper is a gorgeous horse of a different color!  Tested by UCDavis, she is classified as a Palomino, but we feel she also carries the dun factor.  She has NO silver dapple gene.  Her mane and tail are tri-colored and she demonstrates all dun points.  She surely looks like her sire, Doc Holiday!!!

Whisper throws amazing foals and is a wonderful mother!  Although Windy was premature, Whisper has taken her under her wing, as a mother should, feeding her but yet teaching her "herd manners" as well.  Whisper keeps a watchful eye on Windy, allowing her to explore but not letting her get too far away or out of her sight!!

We have pulled tail hairs from Windy, and sent them to U.C. Davis, because we believe that she too is a horse of a different color.  At this time, we know she has the agouti gene because of her black points.  We are testing for the Cream Gene and are also having the Dun Zygosity test done.  If she tests positive for the Cream Gene, she is a buckskin.  If she has the Dun Gene, she is a bay dun.  We cannot WAIT for the results!!  Stay tuned!!
